general admission criteria
After an initial screening at Options Resource & Pregnancy Center for Youth, an Options Support Worker will make a referral to Abriter. Applicants must:
Be a young person aged 14-25 who is pregnant or is the biological mother of a young child (up to age 5)
Currently be experiencing housing and financial insecurity
Able to benefit from government financial assistance or have the capacity to work
Have parental/tutor consent or legal emancipation if a minor
Have self-identified a desire to make positive life changes and would benefit from parenting and independent living skills support
Not have an active substance abuse problem, an untreated mental health condition, or a physical or mental disability that would impede their ability to independently participate in programming activities
Be willing to invest in the admission assessment, and must commit to working towards the achievement of the goals for the duration of their stay
Actively participate in the daily schedule of programs, services, and recommended external programs and services
Agree to respect Abriter’s regulations
